Professional Pathways Conference

Whether you’re eager to kickstart your career in the UK or simply want to enhance your professional skills, this event is for you. Our event will recreate the vibrant atmosphere of a UK corporate business conference, and deliver the following:

  • Keynote Speaker: Uncover the secrets of the UK labour market and job opportunities.
  • Interactive workshops: Sharpen your global skills, craft the perfect elevator pitch, and expand your network.
  • Alumni panel: Hear success stories from international alumni who’ve made their mark in the UK.
  • Assessment centre prep: Learn how to ace an assessment centre and feel confident about the upcoming assessment centre experience.

These events are all being held in the De Lissa Hall, Kingston Hill Campus. If you haven’t already, you will receive an email from us at events@gradcore.co.uk to confirm when you are attending.

Assessment Centre Experience

You will take part in a half-day assessment centre where you will receive very detailed and personalised feedback that will help you when applying for future roles. Please take time to familiarise yourself with what’s involved for each exercise and click here to see some of the key attributes that employers would like you to demonstrate.

  • The assessment centres will be held across January and March.
  • You will be invited to either the morning session (09:00-12:45) or the afternoon session (13:15-17:00).
  • Your assessment centre will be held digitally via Zoom.
  • You will receive an email from events@gradcore.co.uk with the individual timings for your event.
  • You will receive your login details from hello@assess.digital one week before your assessment centre. Please ensure you login here ahead of the event.
  • You’ll be completing the following exercises at the assessment centre

The interview

You will take part in a 1:1 interview, via video conference, which will last 10 minutes. In advance of the interview, please think about the type of role or industry you would like to work in, and the skills required for this. You will not need to share your CV during the interview.

The group exercise

The group exercise is a collaborative task where you will work together as a group on a time-sensitive task. You will be presented with a scenario that requires you to make decisions and contribute your suggestions. As a group, you will review, discuss, and agree on what actions to take. You will then share these actions with the assessor, along with a brief explanation of your rationale.

The presentation

You will present a 5-minute pre-prepared presentation via video conference to the assessor and a group of your peers. The assessor will ask you questions lasting up to 5 minutes. You can use PowerPoint to support your presentation. The assessor will invite you to share your screen when it is your turn to present. Please download your presentation ready to the desktop of the device you will be using during the assessment centre.
